Speech Therapy Insurance/Payment
Dallas Reading and Language Services is a Medicaid provider, and we gladly accept some forms of Medicaid as payment for services. Please contact us to see if we take your child's Medicaid plan. At this time, we are not preferred providers for any insurance plans. Most insurance plans will allow families to submit their own claims for services. If you are interested in this option, Dallas Reading and Language Services will provide your family with the necessary documentation to do this. For families using insurance or private pay, Dallas Reading and Language Services offers a sliding scale to determine the family's cost for therapy.
Payment Information
When you reply to the contact page, please indicate if your child has Medicaid, or if you would like to request a sliding scale form to determine payment. Many insurance companies allow their patient's families to submit claims for providers that are not preferred. Check with your individual insurance for more information if you are interested in this option. You will want to know if they pay for outpatient speech-language therapy, if they only cover therapy for specific reasons, how many visits they cover per year, and what percentage they will pay.
Medicaid Information
To begin therapy, some Medicaid providers require permission in advance for the child to have the initial evaluation. All Medicaid insurance requires prior permission from the child's doctor and the insurance company to begin therapy. Some types of Medicaid also require that we receive authorization for the child's evaluation as well. Our staff will send your child's evaluation to the doctor, who must sign to give permission for services. Dallas Reading and Language Services will then contact you to schedule your child's therapy times.
